Three days of climbing around Innsbruck

A few weeks earlier in Arco we agreed to meet there again when I’d be going back from Slovenia. Flexibility is the key and with the great forecast for the weekend we all decided that it’s gonna be nicer to still do some multi-pitch climbing in the mountains. This part of Alps is unknown to me so I was even more excited to do so.

On Friday we went with Magda to do some sport climbing – I cannot recall the place but Magda had there a 7a project, that she lead in the first go on that day. Congrats ! I failed the OS attempt, although was IMHO quite close. I did RP in the second go.

On Saturday we went with Adam to do an AWESOME climb in Wilder Kaiser. Sudost-verschneidung 7+. I failed to do my first hard pitch clean, but did it AF. The rest of the route went OS. It was really pretty climbing in great company. The route is highly recommended. We were also quite fast. Guidebook says 6-8h for the route which took us 5h :-). Around 5pm we were already eating pizza in a local restaurant :D.

Approach. Descent. Pictures.

I though I still have enough power to go climbing on Sunday with Magda (parents trade kids and partners). She picked up a route with a supposedly short approach (Strava) on Steinplate. The approach was supposed to be 35min but we didn’t really figure out the correct way and it took us more like 1h10min :D. Magda lead all of the difficulties and I was great (I hope) belay bunny 😀 as it occured that I was indeed tired :D. With not a bad descent (Strava) we were back around 3pm. With that after eating some pasta I drove back to Zurich.

Pictures.

Thanks for Magda and Adam for a great few days and to Karolina for cooperating 😉
